Marvel‘s latest reveal of Tommy Maximoff‘s new look in VisionQuest has made fans pull out a Captain America comparison. The final chapter of the WandaVision trilogy will feature Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy.
A recent post shared by Marvel Updates on X showed Mollica’s Tommy Maximoff and Lauren Morais’ Lisa Molinari in a still from VisionQuest. Immediately, several fans flooded the comment box, noting that Mollica’s look is strikingly similar to that of Chris Evans’ Captain America.
@alex_cocx pointed out that both the characters were looking identical to Captain America and the Black Widow, as they said, “this sh*t is giving me flashbacks of Steve and nat.” @ArnavAllAlong doubled down on the idea and stated, “Why does he look like Chris Evans.” @DanHelmy echoed the same thought and pointed out how the picture seemed all too similar to Evans and Scarlett Johansson, saying, “I thought this was Steve and Nat at first wtf.”
@BoNeegga quipped, “I really thought this was Steve and Natasha from Winter Soldier for a sec…” @Michael3917SOA chimed in with a fresh take, feeling Tommy Maximoff looked like Steve Rogers’ kid. The post read, “From that angle he looks like he could be Steve’s kid.” @anhedoniayani echoed a similar observation about Maximoff’s character looking similar to Captain America, saying, “he looks so much like chris evans wtf.”
What to know about Marvel’s VisionQuest
The plot of VisionQuest revolves around White Vision, who will be on a journey of self-discovery after the events of WandaVision. Paul Bettany told Entertainment Weekly that the series would serve as “a springboard for where Vision might go.”
The synopsis of VisionQuest, per Marvel, reads, “Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including Friday, Edith, Jarvis, and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.”
Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision in the superhero thriller series. James Spader is returning as Ultron. Alongside Paul Bettany and James Spader, the cast for the Marvel TV series features Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Lauren Morais, Emily Hampshire, and Ruaridh Mollica.
Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, and Terry Matalas are directing the series. Terry Matalas is also the showrunner of VisionQuest. Roopesh Parekh is the producer of the Marvel action-adventure.
VisionQuest is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. The mini-series will have eight episodes, which will be released weekly.
