Warner Bros. Sets Hazbin Hotel Creator’s Fantasy Movie, Reveals First Look

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has officially unveiled its latest animated feature. The studio is partnering with Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne Medrano on Prehistoria, an original animated musical. Alongside the announcement, WB also revealed the first image of the project, offering an early look at the film’s setting.

Vivienne Medrano expands beyond Hazbin Hotel with a new movie

Vivienne Medrano is preparing to bring a new project to the big screen.

The creator of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss has partnered with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation for Prehistoria, an original animated musical that will serve as her first feature film. The project was formally announced during Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. According to Deadline, the studio plans to release the film theatrically. It will be directed by Medrano (via THR).

Unlike her previous productions, Prehistoria is not connected to the Hellaverse and will instead introduce a completely original setting and story. Warner Bros. has not yet revealed any major plot details. However, the first promotional image features a dinosaur-like character dressed in a witch’s hat and carrying a broom surrounded by green flames.

The announcement marks a significant career milestone for Medrano, whose rise began through online animation. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss drew hundreds of millions of views before expanding to larger platforms. Speaking about the new project, the animator said, “Since I began my animation journey, my biggest dream was to be part of a feature film. Now to be creating an original story that I have been holding for years with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, a studio whose characters and stories have been a huge part of my life, is truly a dream come true.”

A release date has not yet been announced. Additional information regarding the film’s cast, story, and production timeline is expected to be revealed in the future.
