Accordingly, the official release of One Piece Chapter 1169 will happen on Sunday, December 21, at 7 a.m. PT, 10 a.m. ET, and 9 a.m. CT in the United States. In Japan, however, the chapter will come out on Monday, December 22, at midnight JST.
What happened in One Piece Chapter 1168?
One Piece Chapter 1168, “Elbaph’s Snow,” opens with a narration describing how the giants’ reputation has become better, thanks to their active trade, along with the Marines’ bravery and Harald’s diplomacy.
Meanwhile, in Elbaph, Loki is imprisoned in the Underworld’s Detention Center for destroying Brewers Village. Soon, Harald returns from his mission and takes care of Ida. She asks whether Elbaph will soon be united with the world. Harald responds positively and imagines the two of them setting out on adventures again. But when Ida reaches for his hand, her strength suddenly gives out, and she dies.
The story then talks about how 14 years ago, Shanks vanished shortly before receiving the title of Knight of God. Now, Harald is chosen to be the next in line. He accompanies the Five Elders to the Empty Throne, where he is shocked to find someone occupying it.
It turns out to be Imu, who marks Harald with the Depths Covenant, giving him power and immortality. He then orders Harald to carve an Abyss symbol in Elbaph, after which the country will be accepted into the World Government.
Harald completes the symbol, but refuses to follow Imu’s next order, which is to turn Elbaph into a massive military nation. However, the Depths Covenant mark forces his body to move against his will. Unable to resist the mark, Harald has himself tied to a pillar. He then summons Jarul and Loki for help.
