X-Men’s Inde Navarrette Shares Exciting New Details About MCU Movie Rogue Role

Inde Navarrette is looking forward to joining Marvel’s X-Men movie as Rogue. In a new interview, the Obsession star discussed her excitement about the character, her fellow cast members, and the experience of being announced at D23.

Speaking on The Kyle Buchanan Show, Navarrette praised the talent of her fellow actors. She said, “Oh 100%, I think it’s a really good cast; I mean they’re all incredibly talented.” She also spoke about applying what she learned from Obsession to a major Marvel production.

Navarrette is especially excited to explore Rogue and the character’s Southern drawl, “It could be the accent, right? Just going back to Southern. I mean, there’s so much to her and I, I can’t wait to get it started. I can’t say too much, but that character I’m really excited about.”

She also had high praise for Maya Boyd, who will play Storm in the movie, stating, “She’s wonderful, she’s amazing, she is such a light, she’s incredibly talented, she’s a triple threat, I’m pretty sure there’s a fourth one in there controlling the weather.”

Beyond her excitement about the cast, Navarrette recalled how Marvel kept the casting news under wraps before D23. She said she saw online rumors and contacted her representatives to ask whether she had missed an announcement. When she appeared onstage, she spotted several famous actors, including Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Hayden Christensen, and described the experience as a moment she wanted to remember in every detail.

Who else is starring in the X-Men movie with Inde Navarrette?

Marvel Studios revealed the main cast at its D23 presentation in August 2026. Navarrette will play Rogue alongside Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Kit Connor as Cyclops. Samara Weaving will portray Emma Frost, while Christopher Abbott will appear as Professor X. Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, a character associated with the villain Mister Sinister.

The new film will mark the X-Men’s first standalone movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Marvel has already introduced mutant characters in projects such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels. However, the upcoming movie will place the team at the center of its own story.

Directed by Jake Schreier, X-Men is scheduled to open in theaters on May 5, 2028.
