‘Where’s the Green?’: Lanterns Series Logo Gets Same Fan Reactions

The official logo for the DCU‘s Green Lantern series, Lanterns, was recently shared online. However, its minimalistic design hasn’t received a warm reception from some fans. On social media, there was a common complaint about the lack of green, the defining color of the protagonist’s suit and powers, on the logo.

The official logo for the DCU’s Green Lantern series, Lanterns, was recently shared online. Except for a small hue in the lower middle portion, green is largely absent from the logo.

Some fans considered the lack of green to be a major letdown and gave their criticisms online. “Seriously? No green light coming from a Green Lantern ring?” A fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Another user shared an image of what they believed was an ideal logo for the series. “Was it too much to ask?” They wrote.

“Couldn’t even make it green? This sucks,” another commenter posted.

Meanwhile, one fan shared a screenshot of another fan’s tweet suggesting DC was afraid to incorporate some personality into their logos beyond a simple white font. They remarked, “The prophecy is true.”

Moreover, one user suggested alternate versions of logos that could have been used in marketing. Furthermore, some have even taken the liberty to design logos they claimed were more appealing.

Lanterns will premiere on HBO in late Summer 2026. According to James Gunn, the show’s premise is inspired by the hit series True Detective. It will follow veteran Green Lantern Corps member Hal Jordan as he trains recruit John Stewart while they investigate a mysterious murder in Nebraska.

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre will headline the series as Jordan and Stewart, respectively. Kelly Macdonald will also star in the series, and Nathan Fillion will be reprising his role as Guy Gardner from 2025’s Superman. Other supporting cast members include Garret Dillahunt, Jason Ritter, Nicole Ari Parker, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Sherman Augustus, and J. Alphonse Nicholson.
