One of this summer’s biggest box office hits is now available to stream on Paramount+. Kenan Thompson & Anna Faris’ $230 million hit is making its streaming debut following an impressive run at the global box office.
The latest Scary Movie installment, Scary Movie 6, arrived on Paramount+ on September 3 following a successful theatrical run. The movie marks the first new Scary Movie entry in 13 years.
It also brings back several familiar faces from the franchise, including Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans. The story follows Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray as they face another dangerous situation. Like previous movies in the series, the new installment also parodies popular horror films and trends.
Before the release on Paramount+, the revival was a major success at the box office. According to The Numbers, Scary Movie opened with more than $54.3 million domestically and was made with a reported production budget of $30 million. Additionally, the movie’s worldwide box office total reached more than $230 million, making it one of the year’s biggest comedy successes.
The film also received a mixed response from critics. It currently holds a 24% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 136 reviews. However, audiences have been considerably more positive. The movie earned a 64% Popcornmeter score from more than 5,000 verified ratings.

The sixth movie also adds several new actors to the cast, including Saturday Night Live veteran Kenan Thompson, Heidi Gardner, and Damon Wayans Jr.
Returning franchise actors Dave Sheridan and Chris Elliott also appear in the movie.
Paramount+ is offering subscribers more than just the theatrical version. In addition to the 95-minute theatrical cut, the streaming service has released an extended version featuring additional jokes and scenes that were not included in theaters.
Fans can now watch both versions of Scary Movie on Paramount+.
