Avengers: Doomsday is still 100 days away from hitting theaters, but it’s already following in the historic footsteps of its predecessors from the Infinity Saga.
In an unprecedented industry milestone, Avengers: Doomsday has crossed $40 million in domestic pre-sales a full 100 days before its release. This marks the first time a film has ever achieved this volume of advance ticket sales in the nation.

Despite the recent production updates sparking online debate, excitement surrounding the Phase Six tentpole shows no signs of slowing down. The film is set to mark the first grand-scale cinematic crossover, bringing together the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the New Avengers, while officially introducing Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom.
Recent reports revealed that Avengers: Doomsday went into production without even a finished script. However, that hasn’t had any effect on the anticipation among fans.
Before Avengers Endgame: Encore was announced, the film was set to become the first Avengers movie in seven years. However, even with Encore promising additional footage that directly connects to Doomsday, it appears fans are still eager for new stories featuring the superheroes.
Meanwhile, things are going to look very different in Doomsday. A lot of characters that are going to be front and center in the film have had a rocky time being part of the MCU after Endgame. Even film teams like Thunderbolts, which received a lot of critical acclaim and love from fans, failed to bring in the kind of money that Marvel expected.
It remains to be seen whether the film will benefit from strong word of mouth upon release or whether the momentum from its record-breaking domestic pre-sales will ultimately fall short of translating into a box office success for the MCU.
