Taking over the role of Rogue in the upcoming reboot of X-Men comes with big expectations, but Obsession star Inde Navarrette has a personal connection to the character she will bring to life. The actor is preparing to enter Marvel’s mutant universe with genuine enthusiasm, admiration for her predecessor, and a willingness to welcome the physical demands ahead.

Inde Navarrette made her feelings about joining the X-Men universe clear in an interview with Variety, describing the opportunity as an honor. “It’s an honour to play Rogue. I’m a really big fan,” she said.

She also praised Anna Paquin, who previously played Rogue in the film franchise. Navarrette explained that her appreciation for Paquin’s performance goes back to her childhood, adding, “I really loved those movies growing up.” She now sees her casting as an opportunity to contribute to a world that helped shape her own fandom.

Navarrette is equally enthusiastic about preparing for Rogue’s action sequences. Asked about fight and stunt training, she welcomed the challenge and found a practical bonus in the demanding preparation.

“I think it’s also a really good excuse to get in the gym,” she joked. She described herself as “the laziest person” but said she was excited to get moving and put her body to work for the role. Navarrette also called the project “beautiful.”

Marvel Studios has announced that Navarrette will be involved in an upcoming film, scheduled for theatrical release on May 5, 2028. The cast includes Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Adam Driver as Magneto, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Sadie Sink will take on the role of Jean Grey, while Samara Weaving and Kit Connor are set to portray Emma Frost and Cyclops, respectively.

In addition, Adam Driver will be portraying Nathaniel Milbury, aka Mister Sinister. Behind the camera, Jake Schreier will steer the project, with Lee Sung Jim and Joanna Calo teaming up to write the screenplay.
