Gambit & Rogue Stars Officially Returning for 2027 Marvel Project & It’s Not X-Men ’97 Season 3

Marvel is bringing two familiar voices back for a new project centered on one of the X-Men’s most beloved couples. The upcoming project will give fans another opportunity to spend time with the characters in a brand new format.

According to Collider, Lenore Zann and A.J. LoCascio are returning as the voices of Rogue and Gambit, respectively, for the upcoming audiobook adaptation of Rogue x Gambit (An X-Men Love Story). The novel is written by Louangie Bou-Montes and Aabria Iyengar in collaboration with Marvel. It is scheduled to be released by Random House Audio on February 9, 2027.

Zann previously voiced Rogue in X-Men: The Animated Series and reprised the role in X-Men ’97. LoCascio joined the franchise as Remy Etienne LeBeau, aka Gambit, in the 2024 revival, which continued the original animated series’ story. Beyond the series, both artists also voiced their respective characters in the 2024 video game Marvel Rivals.

What is Rogue x Gambit (An X-Men Love Story) about?

According to Collider, the official synopsis of Rogue x Gambit (An X-Men Love Story) reads, “Remy heads home with the feeling that New Orleans needs him, though he’s less certain that the people he left behind want him showing up as an X-Man. Rogue goes with him, and the two discover that someone is buying up pieces of the city in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane. There are actual vampires involved, which makes the question of who’s profiting from the city’s pain a little more literal than either of them might have expected.”

The story will explore the challenges that keep the couple apart as they face their own fears. On one hand, Rogue fears her ability to absorb another person’s memories, powers, and even life through physical contact, and on the other hand, Gambit struggles with returning to his hometown as a changed man.

The dual-narration format will mark the first time Zann and LoCascio have performed the characters together in an audiobook medium.
