In the pantheon of iconic video games, few have ever reached the lofty heights of Street Fighter. Although the first game didn't make a huge splash, developer Capcom basically created the fighting game genre as the world knows it with the industry-shaking 1991 release of Street Fighter II. From this massive success, Capcom would go on to expand the Street Fighter franchise, eventually creating a prequel series that included younger versions of fan-favorite characters, along with a brand-new cast of memorable combatants.
