Did ‘The Marvels’ Just Reveal A Major ‘Thor’ Character Cameo?

The Marvels is set to bring unite Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel with heroes from all across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent teaser trailer for the movie may have just spoiled the appearance of a Thor character.

There has long been talk that The Marvels would feature some character from the Thor franchise, ranging from Valkyrie to the God of Thunder himself. Up until now, it’s just been rumors. Yet the newest teaser for Brie Larson’s MCU return seems to show Captain Marvel’s ship being struck by the Bifrost bridge. The moment can be seen below, roughly 25 seconds into the sneak peek.

The most likely Thor character to appear in The Marvels is Valkyrie. Not only have rumors suggested that she would be romantically involved with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in the film but Valkyrie actress Tessa Thompson’s headshot was seen along with the rest of the cast in a BTS photo. It’s still unclear exactly how a potential cameo may play out, but it certainly seems as though the MCU just got a lot smaller!

The talent behind The Marvels

The Marvels is set to be a groundbreaking film in many ways. Not only does it feature three powerful female superheroes, but it also has a female director, Nia DaCosta, who previously directed the horror flick Candyman. The movie features a cast that includes Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur.

“She has a really calm vibe, too,” Iman Vellani said about DaCosta. “These movies are not easy to make at all. There’s like a million, bajillion little moving pieces. She and [executive producer] Mary [Livanos] did such a great job to keep morale high. Even if there were days where they wanted to rip people’s heads off, they would never show it and never put their stress on anyone else.”

In addition to directing The Marvels, Nia DaCosta also co-wrote the script alongside Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells. During an interview, DaCosta described the movie as being “full comic book madness,” teasing what audiences can expect from the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe project.
