‘Joker 2’: Joaquin Phoenix & Lady Gaga Unite In New Images From Director Todd Phillips

It seems Todd Phillips has his own holiday gift for DC fans! The Joker 2 director recently posted two new images from the upcoming sequel featuring Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck and Lady Gaga’s Harleen Quinzel.

Joker 2 is the upcoming sequel to the Oscar-winning DC film by Todd Phillips. Details about the production have been kept close to the chest, but it seems more news awaits in the new year. To ring in the holiday season, the director posted two new images of Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck. One features Fleck in Arkham Asylum, and the other shows the character alongside Lady Gaga’s Harleen Quinzel:

These two images certainly show the duality Todd Phillips is cooking in Joker 2. Even more than the first film, the sequel seems to be a mix of dark reflections by Joaquin Phoenix as the meek Arthur Fleck and explosive highs with his Joker persona, featuring Lady Gaga as the ever-loyal Harleen Quinzel. Now all we need confirmed is that this DC project will be a musical like all the rumors have been insisting!

What can audiences expect from the Joker sequel?

After the first film ended with Arthur Fleck in Arkham State Hospital, it’s likely that – as in previous iterations – Harleen Quinzel will start out as the Joker’s psychiatrist. Plot details are being kept under wraps but a significant chunk of the sequel is expected to take place within Arkham.

Todd Phillips is directing Joker: Folie à Deux from a script he co-wrote alongside Scott Silver, who also worked on the original. The cast of Folie à Deux also features Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Harry Lawtey.

The first Joker movie is currently available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital formats. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the sequel and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
