Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are looking to bring The Dark Tower to Amazon.
A recent report from Deadline revealed that Mike Flanagan and his producing partner Trevor Macy are working on a new live-action adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower for Amazon. The two have acquired the rights to the hit series and have completed the script for a pilot episode.
“We view it as a as a series that’s going at least five seasons,” Mike Flanagan said in an interview with Deadline. “And having lived with this project as long as I have, I have an enormous amount of it worked out in my brain. But I have a pilot script I’m thrilled with and a very detailed outline for the first season and a broader outline for the subsequent seasons.”
The Dark Tower series is part of an overall deal between Amazon and Intrepid Pictures, which is co-owned by Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy. Intrepid previously had a deal with Netflix.
Mike Flanagan is best known for his work on the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club. He has also directed several feature films, including Oculus, Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep.
