A new image sees Chris Hemsworth leave his Avengers role behind to replace Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe.
Although Chris Hemsworth is best know for his Avengers role as Thor, the God of Thunder, a new image shows him crossing over into the DCEU to take over from Jason Momoa in Aquaman. Hemsworth previously revealed that he starts shooting Thor: Love and Thunder this month while Momoa’s Aquaman 2 is slated for December 2022 – so it’ll be a while before fans see both heroes make their return to the big screen.
But the new image from saarukan.psd on Instagram shows off Chris Hemsworth donning the Aquaman costume to take over from Jason Momoa. The art gives the Avengers star a bigger beard for the role while putting him against the backdrop of Atlantis, the underwater kingdom Arthur Curry travels to in his solo film. When Jason Momoa does return to his Aquaman role in the sequel, director James Wan said it’ll be a more serious adventure. But until we learn more about Thor: Love and Thunder and Aquaman 2, take a look at Chris Hemsworth in the Atlantean armor below.
