Homelander ditches the cape for Wolverine’s Adamantium claws.
New artwork sees The Boys actor Antony Starr leave the Amazon series to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Comic book fans might be used to seeing Antony Starr as the devilishly entertaining Homelander in Amazon’s The Boys, but this concept design sees the actor wearing the Wolverine costume to replace Hugh Jackman. As most fans know, Marvel Studios now have the rights to use the X-Men characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although producer Kevin Feige was quick to shoot down the rumors that casting for Wolverine had begun.
The design from digital artist ‘skull101ify’ on Instagram sees Antony Starr stepping out of his red white and blue costume for The Boys and into a reimagined version Wolverine’s classic yellow and black look from the Ultimate era in the comics. In an interview ahead of The Boys season two, Starr even confessed that he’d love to play Wolverine on the big screen, but was careful to praise Hugh Jackman’s work in the role. Take a look at Antony Starr as Wolverine below.
What do you make of the design? Would you like to see Antony Starr replace Hugh Jackman? Or do you think he’s better off staying in The Boys? Which other superhero roles would you like to see Antony Starr get a shot at? Let us know in the comments section!
