‘The Brave And The Bold’ Script Update: When Is DC’s ‘Batman’ Reboot Coming?

The upcoming Batman: The Brave and The Bold reboot for DC Studios has just received another disappointing update from James Gunn, suggesting the reboot may not be coming anytime soon.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold is one of the most anticipated projects set to come out of James Gunn’s DC Universe reboot, with Damian Wayne finally set to make his debut on the big screen. However, it seems he may not be coming anytime soon, with the filmmaker recently confirming on Instagram that DC Studios “don’t even have a script yet” for the project.

This follows a recent update that the film’s director, Andy Muschietti, would be focusing on the It prequel Welcome To Derry following the Hollywoodstrikes strikes. The silver lining is that it’s clear James Gunn and DC Studios aren’t rushing the reboot, allowing Batman: The Brave and The Bold to find its own footing at its own pace, which is certainly a great sign for things to come.

The future of the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe Flash, and Blue Beetle have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom still slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
