Loki Season 2’s Finale Drew Even More Viewers Than Its Premiere

The Season 2 finale of Marvel StudiosDisney+ original series Loki drew an even bigger audience than October’s season premiere.

Per Deadline, Loki’s Season 2 finale, “Glorious Purpose,” attracted 11.2 million viewers worldwide during its first three days in release. This is a three-percent increase over the Season 2 premiere, “Ouroboros,” which attracted 10.9 million viewers in the same amount of time. Loki Season 2 also saw consistent viewership over the course of its six-episode run, with each episode topping 11 million views during their debut weeks.

“Ouroboros” was Disney+’s second-most-watched premiere of 2023, coming up behind that of The Mandalorian Season 3. Similarly, “Glorious Purpose” was the streamer’s second-most-watched finale, again yielding to The Mandalorian.

The God of Mischief finds his glorious purpose in Loki Season 2

Loki Season 2 marks Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Tom Hiddleston‘s latest turn as the eponymous God of Mischief. “I will say this: it all comes full circle,” the actor said of the recent finale. “It’s the conclusion to Season 2. It’s also the conclusion to Season 1 and 2. It’s also the conclusion to six films and 12 episodes and 14 years of my life … I was 29 when I was cast, I’m 42 now. It’s been a journey … In the finale, there are echoes and resonances of every version of Loki that I’ve played.”

An official synopsis the season as a whole reads as follows: “‘Loki’ Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”

Loki Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Disney+.
