‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Tracking For Huge 4-Day Opening

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is on track for a four-day opening weekend north of $120 million.

Deadline reports that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is looking to bring the North American box office back to life with a projected four-day $120 million debut. The last Marvel Studios release, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, opened to $181.3M, in line with pre-release projections.

The official Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania synopsis reads as follows: “Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was directed Peyton Reed from a script written by Jeff Loveness. The movie also stars Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Bill Murray as Lord Krylar, William Jackson Harper as Quaz, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo. It arrives on February 17, 2023.

Fittingly enough, Paul Rudd’s standalone Ant-Man movies have been small in scale compared to other solo films in the MCU. However, given Scott Lang’s integral role in Endgame, he has since become a vital part of the Avengers, and his contributions involving science thanks to his collaboration with Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) have certainly been integral. Now that Kang the Conqueror is involved, it’s safe to say that this will be Lang’s biggest threat yet.
