Marvel Studios To Search For ‘Fantastic Four’ Cast While Script Is Written

As the film’s script is written, Marvel Studios will reportedly start the casting process for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

The long-awaited Fantastic Four reboot from Marvel Studios is slowly coming together. It was confirmed at D23 earlier this month that WandaVision‘s Matt Shakman would step in for Jon Watts to direct the film. Still, fans were also hoping for a casting announcement with rumors of various actors swirling around before the convention.

Fantastic Four received a new update on Wednesday, with a report from Deadline revealing Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer will write the script. The film appears to be in the early stages of development, targeting a November 8, 2024 release date.

Where Is Marvel at With Casting?

As far as who will play Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadline added that there’s “no cast on board” and that “Feige and Shakman now will focus on finding actors while the script is being written.”

This means news of who will play the Fantastic Four in the reboot might not come for a few months as the casting process begins. The recent update might also mean that John Krasinski won’t reprise the role of Reed Richards after appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ next film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

“In Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.”

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the MCU’s Fantastic Four, be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
