‘Shang-Chi’: Simu Liu Takes Action In Marvel Studios Concept Art For Climactic Battle

Official Marvel Studios concept art for Shang-Chi shows off Simu Liu in the film’s climactic battle.

Marvel Studios’ newest film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings showcases some of the most impressive fight sequences in any film of the franchise. Given that the film is centered around Simu Liu’s titular hero, trained to be a master of Kung Fu, the action combined with new mystical elements previously unseen from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) brought to life an exciting new origin story featuring the newest Avenger.

The film’s climactic battle finds Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi battling against his father Wenwu (Tony Leung) in Ta Lo. In perhaps the most personal MCU battle thus far, we also see an ancient Chinese dragon known as the Great Protector and the Dweller-In-Darkness take flight as well.

Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park shared an official keyframe from Shang-Chi, in which Simu Liu is suited up in the climactic battle with the Ten Rings in his possession as both the Great Protector and the Dweller-In-Darkness are both in the horizon. This keyframe illustration set the tone for the film’s epic finale:

The action on display from the finale teases some more epic adventures await for Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. Whether we see the Master of Kung Fu in his sequel or alongside the Avengers in the inevitable fifth film, it will certainly be exciting to see how the elements of his origin film will collide with the rest of the MCU.
