‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Season 2 Hasn’t Been Discussed, Says Anthony Mackie

How about ‘Captain America and The Winter Soldier’ anyone?

According to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie, Marvel Studios hasn’t discussed a second season.

With WandaVision coming to a close, there’s only a little time to wait until Marvel fans get to see the next chapter in the universe on Disney Plus; The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It will seemingly examine how 21st century America will react to a Black hero taking up the mantle of Captain America after Steve Rogers. But although everything Marvel Studios produces seems to be a hit, don’t expect to see The Falcon and The Winter Soldier season 2 anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Variety that delved deep into Anthony Mackie’s career both before his work with Marvel Studios and after his casting as Sam Wilson – the star confirmed that a second season of the upcoming show hasn’t been discussed. If Mackie does step into the Captain America costume (which was seemingly revealed on the packaging for a toy) then obviously he’d be leaving his Falcon role behind. Take a look at the quote from the outlet below.

“while bound by standard Marvel-grade secrecy, the actor confirms there have been no discussions of a second season for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”

Are you excited to see the Disney Plus series? Will Anthony Mackie suit up as Captain America by the end of the show? Sound-off in the comments below!
